About

Carmilla is my and Ash Watkin’s indulgent take on the classic novel of the same name by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu. The project combines our love for queer stories with 80’s anime aesthetics and tosses all of it into space. Heavily inspired by things like Vampire Hunter D, Magnetic Rose, & Ghost in the Shell, we wanted to use this story to explore the style of an era we love so much.

It’s far from our first collaboration and, per usual, Watty is focusing on early look development & backgrounds while I tackle animation, turnarounds & compositing. Please stay tuned while we chip away at this project in our personal time!
